Why should I get my new home inspected?

When you make the decision to purchase a home, it is in your best interest to hire a professional who can conduct a thorough investigation of your home. If you fail to get the home inspected, you may find yourself pouring thousands of dollars into a home for years down the road. You don’t want to unknowingly buy a home that is in bad condition, but there is no reason for you to have no sense of the condition of the home prior to making such an investment.

If you get the home inspection done and you find that there are some repairs that need to be made, there may be ways that you can be able to have the previous owners pay for the repairs. One of the ways that you can do this is to request that the repairs are covered under the closing costs. Another option that you may have available to you is to negotiate the price of the house itself to a lower cost that would allow you to spend that money on repairs instead. The person who is inspecting your home can give you a general idea of the amount that it may cost to make the repairs, which you can use to estimate the new price you would like to offer the seller.
